For those of you who were given hope after reading that the final season of Game of Thrones would return to the small screen in April 2019, we're sad to report that that's probably not true.
We had no reason to doubt a recent Metro report, which supposedly quoted Thrones actress Maisie Williams as saying the spectacular HBO series would debut specifically in April 2019, especially given that her co-star (and BFF) Sophie Turner said it would happen at some point during that year.
But Williams herself is denying the report, via Twitter, and isn't giving us any clues as to when the highly anticipated eighth season will air.

— Maisie Williams (@Maisie_Williams) January 30, 2018
In the tweet, Williams wrote that the "release date 'quote' I've supposedly given is completely false and taken from an interview I did years ago".
Even though it's looking like we'll probably have to wait more than a year and a half to return to Westeros, at least we know it's going to be epic—the six-episode final season racked up a tab of more than $90 million.
